We have been assigned!!!

With great rejoicing, anticipation and thankfulness we announce that our family has been officially assigned to adopt Miss A! The road is not over yet, but we are yet one step closer to bringing this little girl into our lives.

I speak for us all when we say we are so excited to make this little girl part of our family, but I think through this long, heartbreaking process God has taught us to simply see the joy in the journey..... Our crowing joy won't be the day we all meet her and hold her, nor the day she shares our last name, not even the day she come's home..... but we are trusting God that one day we will look back and be able to see how God slowly and carefully took the life of a little girl and redeemed it through the love of a family that He had been preparing for her.

So today we simply say thank you God for this journey and path you have brought us on, because you have done so much in our live and we know that you are not done yet.......

So please continue to pray with us and for us as we start making plans to be in Ecuador, as the details are worked out and as this little girl will soon be introduced to our family through pictures and videos. These may all seem like more little details in this whole process but they are HUGE and we pray that God will be in each one.

It is both scary and exhilarating as we keep moving forward on this journey, from buying clothes and things for Miss A, answering the questions our small nephews, looking forward to what is ahead and enjoying the days that we have left before our family grows.

I'm going to steal from my own facebook post here....

I can not wait to hold this little girl again and call her sister! Its so exciting to see God working and we are so excited to see what God has in store for her and our family. She will soon become the 9th and youngest Velie child, the 1st adopted sibling and our family will become multi-racial. Praise the Lord!

WAITING.........

We have sent all our paper work in since last fall sometime and we have been waiting
ever since... oh we here things... but not what we were hoping to hear.  But the Lord is
always there reminding me.. In My time.  And that helps to carry me through till the next
week, and then we start all over.  I am a slow learner.  During this time of waiting we have
been busy with various other things and blessings.

Hailey Joy Brainard was born in Oct.  Grandma was a little late, but oh so blessed.

We were blessed with the gift of some tickets for the Show Hope Concert in Nov.

Blessing come in all different shapes and sizes (a brand new fridge was a gift of love from some very

dear friends)

Christmas... we thought we might be gone this year, but the lord had other plans and we had a very blessed time.
Waiting comes in different forms... waiting for birth.

Waiting for the Adoption.

The end result for the birth was a beautiful baby girl.
Naomi Lynn Velie (a very proud grandma)

And we are still waiting at this current time.  We are waiting to get assigned.

Merry Christmas!!

We have seen God perform many miracles over the past year in our lives...  But the wonder of all miracle is still that Christ would come to earth and be born in a lowly manger for us!  We know that He came to earth for us, so that we may have life and have life more abundant... We know that He is the Savior of the World, and we are so thankful for the special time of year to remember the events that happened over 2,000 years ago but are still changing history every day. He has given to us salvation full and free, He has given us hope and forgiveness, each and everyday is filled with His goodness and blessings

So from our family to yours, we pray that you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas Day!

Fair Fun!

Well this past week was the Rusk County Junior Fair, which is a big highlight in my family's life! My siblings have been working on projects and animals for weeks....

Yep...sometimes it all get a little crazy...

Some of us get a little moody...

Everyone lends a helping hand....

Woodworking...

Flowers...

All the hard work starts paying off....

Food & Nutrition

Handcrafted Picture Frame

Handcrafted Wood Box

Prize winning turkeys for sale!

It's all great fun, but all of us are quite thankful when its all over!!!

Since we all hope that next year we will be introducing our Miss "A" to her first junior fair, it was only natural that we should include Miss "A" in this one! So we had a table for her in the craft booth...

The booth was filled with handmade items from family and friends...

Harmony is our #1 sales lady, she loves to sit and share about the things she has made and about our adoption.

A huge thank you to aunt Kitty and all the hours she put in at the craft booth this weekend!

There is a 4-H food booth that all the 4-H clubs can work for $90, but they had several empty shift, so they asked us to work a couple shifts and said, we could have the money for the adoption. So of course we took it! Thursday and Friday evening, our friends and church family helped us serve up a lot of food....

Making pulled pork and ham sandwiches, nachos and serving up hot dogs!

Taking and delivering orders!

Washing up potatoes for fresh fries!

Our cheese curd fryer...

and our french fry fryer.... (they had way to much fun!)

Helping get drinks and deliver ice cream cones...

Our shake and cone maker extraordinaire!!

This is definitely not the whole group! But thank you to everyone that helped out! I know that I had a blast and  its so amazing to see all the different people, talents, and hearts that God is using to bring my baby sister home.
